Review of Treasured by Elayna R Gallea

In a world where darkness reigns, the cost of love is eternal.

Eleyta’s throne belongs to the most powerful vampire, and it’s up to Sebastian and Luna to challenge the queen and save the realm.

Unfortunately, that won't be easy. Having survived Queen Marguerite’s deadly tournament, they are fugitives. Despite the peril lurking in the shadows, escape is not an option.

The prophecy is hanging over their heads. The darkness is here, and the red moon will soon rise. Sebastian’s bond with his Maker must be broken, and they need to learn the Tether's secrets before time runs out.

As unyielding darkness threatens to consume them, Sebastian and Luna face their greatest challenge.

The queen must be stopped, no matter the cost.

Even if it's death.

This is the third and final book in The Binding Chronicles. The series should be read in order (Tethered, Tormented, Treasured).

This series takes place in the same world as Of Earth and Flame. It can be enjoyed on its own or alongside The Ithenmyr Chronicles.

NOTE: This series is upper YA/NA and will have moderate steam as the series progresses. There are some instances of violence, language, and mature situations. Recommended for ages sixteen and up.

The point of no return has been crossed, and now it's time to find out if the characters will survive the consequences.

Getting the queen's POV was honestly nightmare fodder. But she made an interesting contrast to Luna and Sebastion. Every decision she makes is out of what she believes is a love of power, but is actually fueled by hate. While they do everything for actual love, but that means seizing power in order to survive. I thought getting the queen's POV would make me more sympathetic to her, but nope. She is still one of the most horrifying bad guys I've ever read, perfect for a gothic vampire story. The stakes (wooden or otherwise) are super high, with a kingdom in the balance, as well as Sebastian and Luna's happily ever after.

Note to more sensitive readers: as the author mentions in the blurb, there is adult language, violence and death, and a really bad villainous. Honestly, I think she is the most morally black villainous I've ever come across, so expect a lot of evil from her. In her POV there is more depiction of her violent crimes and assaults. For the romance, there are four or five easily skippable open-door scenes I was able to jump over without detracting from the plot.

I received a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

A good ending of the trilogy perfect for vampire lovers.
