Weekend Briefing: Three Days Left, Three Tips, and One Free Book
Welcome back, agents. We don't have much time so first download In the Rouge before the end of the day and it's not free anymore.
Also, only three days left until Agents Adam and Eve releases April 16, so be back then for a little launch party with goodies, games, and surprises.
Now, as promised, three Kindle marketing tips I've learned from various sources.
One: Choose your Amazon search keys carefully- this is what will get your book in front of potential readers and buyers. The trick is choosing a category that doesn't have much competition- for instance, there will be thousands of people under the young adult category- and too few searches- for example, not many people are likely to search for teenagers working in retirement homes. The trick is finding a niche that balances between the two- like young adult summer camp.
Two: Make at least one of your books permafree (by making it free on another site other than KDP, which doesn't let you manually take down the price; and then having a friend request it to be price-matched).
Three: Having a link in that free Kindle book that will take them to a landing page (which you can make on Mailchimp) where they can put in their email and sign up for a newsletter in return for another free book or short story or flash fiction.
Well, that's all for now, agents. Comment below if you'd like more posts about marketing, and I'll do my best to oblige- and give links about some of the best teachers I've found about it.
And remember to come back Tuesday! Ciao for now.
