Review of The Dragons of Sheol

Sometimes, when it comes to fantasy, it seems like everything has been done before- twice over. But Peter still manages to weave a unique story with familiar elements for lovers of fantasy. The most impressive aspect is the world-building. We see a fantasy world of immortal elf-like creatures, a realm like our own with its rising similarity to sci-fi connected by portals created in special trees. But there is a darker realm as well, where sea pressure is the least of the problems.

While I didn't start this series from the beginning, it was great to watch this cast of characters become a loyal company on a mission to save Al's wife and children, including Al's estranged brother Thomas, and his best buddy Dave (who stole a lot of the spot-light), and Dave's immortal wife- oh, and a few characters they pick up on the way.

Basically, if you love fantasy, read this book. And if you want to get a taste of fantasy- read this series.

I received a copy of this book from the author, but the opinions are my own.
