Excerpt of Fish Out of Water
Stumbling
back up the horrible platforms, my mind is spinning as I try to
remember which door is my room, and which is Brendan’s.
My
new feet choose for me, and I stumble into Brendan’s room.
He
mutters something, and it’s too intelligible for me to understand.
I’m not sure if he’s awake or asleep, so I just make my way to
the cushioned seating area by his window and collapse into it.
I
don’t know much about Cerce, only that she is powerful, and not to
be trusted. Which means I need to protect my only chance of breaking
this curse from her. Brendan will not be leaving my sight until I
make him fall in love with me.
